This exhibition would be in Taipei till November, so maybe I'll go again with some friends. ;)


Just be reminded, the open date of this exhibition on Aug 07, and around that weekend, the whole Taiwan was in Typhoon MORAKOT, the CRAZIEST Typhoon here EVER, which caused flood, mudflows and landslides everywhere especially in south Taiwan, owwwwwwwwwwwww...

2011 IDA Taipei Congress - publicizing video.

What interesting is, not every one here is happy to see all this happening. ( Means, IDA is going to be in Taipei. ) Some, of course, are pride of it; however, some give it cold eyes and sharp criticisms.

My character makes myself cannot give an exact sentence to say how I think about this, 'cause I always remember anything can be realized from many different sides. But at least I'm sure that Taiwan has grown her own uniquely supple, yet brawny strength of keep sticking and living on the shallow soil, moreover, she's blooming.

By living in this land for as long as almost my whole life, I never think Taiwan is an ideal paradise, nevertheless, though we know her unforecastable temper, I like this place. Sometimes I hear some people say, "I hate this place and everything here around me, wanna run away to find a better place that fit for me" but can't agree with them. To me, all the good and bad, beautiful and unperfact things right here, humanized this place, made her growing through this way, that's the important part I enjoy in living here, seeing here, and learning here.


Anyway, while watching this video I'm happy, just 'cause I like how it looks. Sometimes things can be so simple.
I like the music a lot, 'm wondering and trying to find out who made it. XD

After some few years of working for life, I go back to school again and am an university student now. ---- Yep, that's what I went to the exams in Feb and Jul for. ( I know it sounds like a quite different way to go to an university from most you understand though... ) I learn Visual Art & Design in MCU in Taoyuan, and I'm happy that I'm going to learn animation making since next year. Well, so, yes, I'm in Taoyuan now, it really took me a while to move to Taoyuan from Taichung, will talk to you more when I get everything settled. Wish me luck, I'm so looking forward for my new life !! :D

This evening I went out with my family and had dinner in THAT FAMOUS restaurant "Toilet", which has fine and big portion of food, but all in some TOILET ideas. XD Like, all decorations inside the restaurant are like in a huge bathroom, toilets are as chairs and sinks and bathtubs are as tables, foods, drinks come out in small sized toilets; also, they make some foods look like some waste matter and whichever you eat or drink, it looks like you put your head into a toilet and....... LOTSOFUN. XDDDD Most of you may not talk about waste while eating and you may get mad at me because of this. *shrugs* Well, I'd like to say this is just sense of humor in Taiwan style. ;P

Well, the "May Rain Season" is how stupid me calls it. XD If you want to know more and correct, read this. XD As you see, it says the East Asian rainy season lasts from June to August, why "May" ? 'Cause usually it starts in May here, you can say if you go down more to the south of East Asian you'll find the East Asian rainy season comes earlier, but they're the same thing. XD Usually the "May Rain Season" ends in June here. ;)

btw the May Rain Season reminds me of this *lol*, ch. 172 of "Gin Tama" manga , tells something in the "tsuyu", which means "East Asian rainy season" too, in Japanese. ;)

I like this one-chapt-fin story a lot that it shows some weird but interesting mood around. Maybe you won't quite understand it in the first sense, but it's somewhat tasty, especially if you read it in the long raining days. :D

In April I was ( also *dies* ) working on another project for Challenger Monthly, a comic of a short story. I'm glad it's done and finally be sent today. Will be published in June if there's no any accident. ;P I spent a hard time on it and didn't sleep enough almost each day in those days ( less than 5 or 4 hours per day ), so I'm happy that I can take a rest and have a longer sleep now. XD ...Take a rest ? Nah, the Y3C stuffs are waiting on the list too !!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaah.


Here I took some photos of the making of comic pages. For some reason I can only show you a little. You can see it's totally a low-tech work with traditional tools. Well, but I didn't take any step 1, the very rough sketch of the "storyboard" of the comic.

Step 2 : Grilles and bubbles inked first, then sketched the characters and backgrounds.

( ...It's pg.1 'cause I forgot to take a picture of Pg. 5 at this step... =_=b )


Step 3 : Basic lineart finished.



Step 4 : Painted black in each piecemeal that marked with a little "x".



Step 5 : Whole ink work finished.

Step 6 : Stuck the halftone patterns, and added other details.

p.s. In general we don't write the lines right in the bubbles on the same paper, but cover each page with tracing paper and write the lines on it.

Too bad saying that I didn't pass in the exam I went in Feb. But I don't think I have the time on being chapfallen, because if I didn't pass in this exam, that mean I have to go to another exam in July, so I'd better start to prepare for it as early as I can. Although preparing for an exam while having two jobs, several volunteer works, and other stuffs... is somewhat a little crazy... =3= Perhaps I really need somebody to pray for me. :P

The ( first part of the ) exam is OVER !!! But in so hurry I'll become busy again tomorrow and have no time to do some of those stuffs I planed, like watch the anime. XD Besides, the Lunar New Year is coming, and I'm going to go to Tainan and Kenting for about one week ( next week ). Will be back on Feb 10, or few more days later.

HAPPY NEW YEAR from TAIWAN !!!

To look back to 2007, I'm glad that I've planed and done many things, though, some of them are not finished yet, but I won't stop and will keep doing them. I believe that all the things I've chosen to do in last year were meaningful, even at those moments I didn't think so. I really had a good year in 2007 !

In the praying gathering we had an interesting program, that we've been asked writing down some verse from Bible on a card, then giving it out to a random somebody to bless him or her. The verses I wrote down and gave out ( I was very happy and think these verses are a simply good description of my life in 2007 ) :

When the LORD brought back the captive ones of Zion, we were like those who dream.Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with joyful shouting; then they said among the nations, "the LORD has done great things for them." The LORD has done great things for us; we are glad. [ Psalms 126 : 1~3 ]

The verses I got :

Except for some kinds of service industries, on the world I guess not many people need to go to work or school like us do today, here on this little island again. =3= Some my friends complain about it, "why there's no an extra holiday between Sunday and Tuesday (the New Year's Day), what a matter," they say. However, for people who are preparing the coming exam, more holidays means nothing, so it's alright with me. ( HEY ! ) XD

Anyway, I still went to buy some new watercolor bars this afternoon, hee hee. Winsor & Newton Cotman. ( I used a different brand of watercolor before. ) Ultramarine is my favorite color of this brand. :D

At 9:00 this evening in our church, we have a praying gathering. It's also as our New Year Countdown Night. Will we have more fireworks in the first hours of 2008 than 2007 ? I'm looking forward to it. XD

A some-hours-earlier Happy New Year greeting to everyone !

Now I'm wondering how many countries in the world don't have a holiday on Christmas' Day. XD
Yes, so it means we still have to go to work or school today. XD
But we really had some good time during the near-Christmas weekend !

Besides, it's so interesting to find out that differ from the West, in East Asia, we "passing the Christmas time with friends; passing the New Year's ( usually it means the Lunar New Year ) time with family". XD

Btw, I believe that Christmas is not just an excuse for parties and sprees. What are we celebrating for ? If people forget the major meaning of Christmas, what a pity it would be.

Seems it will be a raining Christmas. XD Or maybe not ?
